My walk With God

My autography as derived from the book

There were 6 children in the family, and we grew up strong, but in 1949

I came down with polio, that after a year and a half,

I was discharged from the hospital on the commitment that my parents would take over the exercise regimen that task required two additional years to assist my body’s recovery by applying the prescribed physical exercises and stretches. I was becoming stronger and was able to help with some of the chores around the house and farm. However I had developed chronic asthma, making my life adverse to almost everything associated with farming. It became impossible for me to function at all in this manner.

Our school was typical of many rural schools consisting of one class room, accommodating twenty five students and grades from grade 1 to grade 12. The school also served the community in occasions for concerts and occasional dances and in some cases a facility for various meetings.

At last I was capable of looking for work at areas outside of farming but there wasn’t any long term employment available.

I applied with the RCAF and was accepted. I thrived on the challenge related to the absolute need for accuracy, responsibility is a key element in maintaining and assurance when servicing and inspecting high speed jet air planes.

Later I found employment with Cominco a lead zinc operation located in Pine Point Northwest Territories. I worked in the NWT for many years. Cominco was one of the best companies I have ever worked for.

After having worked for Cominco, Some of the people I had worked with during my time with Cominco had gone to Faro YT to start up that operation,. We moved on to that open pit mine in the Yukon, operation to bring the concentrator online I invented, designed, and oversaw the manufacturing and supervised the necessary equipment installation, including the setup of the administrative aspects surrounding personnel safety for the operation, enabling Cyprus Anvil to become the largest producing Lead/Zinc property in the world. We developed three new 50 housing subdivisions during my work for the town site upgrading and completion for accommodating 2000 people. I am currently retired.

It is my hope to continue my Memoirs as time progresses.
